Errors – Come Down With Me
Finally I’m going to blog about some Scottish music on this site. It’s about time, too.
Errors are a electro band from Glasgow who received critical acclaim for their debut album, It’s Not Something But It Is Like Whatever in 2008. They then toured with the likes of Underworld and Danananakroyd and expanded their fanbase. This month sees them release Come Down With Me, an album that proves to be both a natural growth and expansion on their debut’s themes and tones.
On songs such as Supertribe and epic opener Bridge Or Cloud? they tread familiar ground and make smart dance songs with huge hooks. But more interesting is the more eclectic moments on the album, in particular the way stand out track Antipode’s elastic bass and ghostly synths morph into a awesome funky riff and epic outro. The whole album is an improvement on what they have done before and they deserve to become huge. Plus, the guys in the band are nice fellas, which is always a bonus.
I have been listening to a lot of electronic albums recently, and this is one of the best of a good bunch. Have a listen and see what you think.
